Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Classic textbook case on how not to run a telecom company

They acquire entrepreneurial companies with excellent executives only to dismantle their leadership teams instead of looking at what they do better and scaling it. Its always "stay the course because were Windstream" and "this is how “we” do it". They know nothing about customer retention. They claim it’s their goal to reduce churn only to have tinker bell magically cut those in management who’s teams were proven best at churn reduction. Executives here are more impressed with those who deliver fancy self serving and fulfilling reports vs the management who know what is going on in the front lines doing the day to day work.

Paetec was fine on its own? Seriously? Please try and be intelligent. The Paetec acquisition is where this free fall started.

Lol, you can’t be serious. They allowed everyone we acquired to infect us with their diseases. Each acquisition brought a new cancer beginning with Nuvox. They took away renewals in 2010, which is why churn numbers are through the roof. The. DW decided Rate increases were a good thing to offset the lack of growth.

I wish Windstream wouldn’t have purchased anyone of you jokers. You were all losers and until our dumb leaders allowed you to infect us with your disasters. Nuvox, Account management was a joke and still is. Dealer channel lying and jumping in the middle of direct deals. Several dealers quoted att and when they found out they lost to Windstream asked the customer if they could see the Win proposal to make sure they got the best price. Unknowing customer shares it and the dealer takes the price shortens the term and sells it cheaper. The dealer Channel from Nuvox was criminal. Account manegement was lazy wanted half your sale while sat on their butt and did nothing. Absolutely nothing, they should be ashamed.

Let’s get to Paetec, another company who was going into bankruptcy that claimed they did it better. Until this acquisition Win had high margins to support

The business(pull the Morningstar report before this acquisition) Paetec has margins below 10%. We allowed these hooligans to run wild flipping existing customers and counting as new to the partec margins, selling deals that we literally paid other carriers more than we took in from the customer. The crazy amendments, counting sales they didn’t have based on future commits that never came in, immediate loss on toll routing. They had some good platforms but they had a lot of bodies buried we found.

The final bow, you guessed it, EarthLink. Do I need to say more? Their management is still in charge taking about winning 20k deals. The problem with that is that’s exactly why your failing. You’ve cut off your nose spite your face. Good luck with that plan, it’s not working out for you but your to dumb to realize it. Fill the pipeline with everything, but you can’t see it JLO. 20k isn’t a realistic daily target. Now you’re so far over your head that you can’t save the company. Thank you EarthLink.

Now you’re in default. Sell your way out of this one

The executive leadership finally got what they deserved. All those years of 'doing things their way' and not listening to seasoned people in the industry has finally come back and bit them.

This should be a wake-up call for the remaining business customers to flee - for if a company bets their company on this ruling - and lost - then WIN can't be trusted to provide a service for the consumer. The entire executive team needs to be booted - had they had 'competent' leadership, this would never happened.

TT needs to be the first one canned - his leadership caused this. Sad the board of directors don't have the guts to make changes. But hey - all those executive bonuses in company stock are nearly worthless, so the leadership is feeling the pain with the stock.

Reverse split this!!

The company has always had a problem with ecxel jockeying laddering climbing brown nose having tableu graph pukeing numb skulls in management trying to catch the carrot on a stick. Sure this site is full of people saying it, and I am sure anyone with any kind of perception could name off five such dingbats by name.

However right now that is the least the the trouble its too little too late. Perhaps the bankruptcy court can install a executive structure that can resolve this management problem.
