Got my package as my reward for 2 plus decades of loyalty with the IT organization.
When I first started and years afterwards the company did not need an employee appreciation week as everyone knew that the organization did value you as an individual and as an employee. Over the past few years the employee appreciation week has become a hollow gesture what means nothing to many. Sad that so many former colleagues in both IT and business who once openly praised the company know say very little and expect they'll be shown the door long before they are ready to retire.
Lets see what the next phase of my life will be like. I'm sure there will be pastures a lot greener elsewhere.
