They're just setting the stage for more to come. They bring ASM's to hourly so the "manager" lawsuit goes away. This also means that later in the year when it's time to cut staff..... The company can claim that they aren't laying off any managers... They're just laying off extra full timers. Then they'll claim better payroll control by hiring 1 maybe 2 part timers & pocketing the money. So when they give the reports to investors they've hidden all the hourly ASM's in with FTH & investors cannot tell what title they've laid off. May not happen exactly like this, but I guarantee this is just setting up for something bigger.

Store Managers are the ones not working the 47.5,ASM,s always have to cover fpr them.
The ignorance on this thread is frightening. The responsibilities you have and the essential functions of one's job make them a manager, not how they are paid. People need to grow up!
Amazing that everyone thinks they know the law and really have no basic understanding of it or the change.
@1hxf - this is imortant info, should be a thread. Hope you don't mind me making it.
Just got the scoop that they rolled out in my area. ASM's will the be paid their salary wage based on 55hrs of actual work (with OT figured in). This means a schedule of 60hrs minus breaks & lunches. Also offered was a 47.5 HR wk but pay per hr would still be based on 55hr week. Here's to the real kick in the a--....district hr said that ASM's would be scheduled 55 hrs but with lunches it would be 50hrs.... So to make up the other 5hrs they could stay late or work a day off as business needs dictate.
If they are punching a clock just like an associate what makes them a manager? Management is always salary. There is something big behind all of their smoke and mirrors. Watch your back everyone. Something is not right about this.
This is a great way to thin the herd. So many asm take advantage of their position and work less and not even a full shift. This will force them to do their job or get out. It’s just keeping everyone honest.
Exactly right. They only want part timers and some full timers running the stores. Anyone making 15 dollars and hour is forced to take keys. That’s the most they want to pay anyone. I make 15 an hour and my DM told me I am at the highest pay grade there is right now. ASMS are goners.
You're ridiculous. Just going to hourly doesnt mean they are gone. Just payroll changes to tighten and save money.
Well said, that’s pretty close to what is going on!! ASM’s are already gone and just don’t know it yet.
