PQP Finally Paying the Price

Hopefully those who were involved in PQP will finally face the music as they spent millions upon millions with absolutely nothing to show for it except many frequent flier miles and hotel points. It goes from Band 5’s to Band 1’s and the waste was excessive. Then they reorganized 2 years ago and no one knows what anyone else does, the same people were involved in both instances.... you can’t make this stuff up!

The idea behind PQP made and still makes sense- Prevent the quality and food safety issues that contributed to $10MM+ in annual recalls and withdrawals. But program went WAY off the rails when IT got involved. 80% of the dollars and people for the program went to creating a computer system to control how everyone did their jobs. The PQP IT system is as bad and equally wasteful as our SAP system is. You’d think our PepsiCo execs would’ve learned from our failed SAP experiences. Smh

PQP = Pepsi Quality Program & its not going anywhere. AOP dollars for it every year as it will integrate with, but cannot be replaced by SAP.

Totally agree. It was one of the biggest scams within PepsiCo. Hope somebody will be held accountable for this fraud. Also the excess manpower spreads across the globe. In R&D these guys are more in number than product developers. I don’t feel bad if that entire program is sc-apped.
