Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Sad we get more info here than our company

That the news had more info than what has been provided is a sham of a way to do this. While never a great way, zero transparency is rubbish until the hammer drops.

Multiple news agencies announced this was coming and crickets from within.

Absurd.

At Pepsi, it really comes down to the pension. IF you have one, your goal is to make it to 55yrs of age. At that point, your pension value more than doubles vs's what it would be if you left at 54yrs and 364 days - the day you make it to 55yrs is a major windfall. IF you don't have a pension (ie: one of the newer folks that started in the last 10 yrs or so), there's really no competitive advantage to staying. Pay, benefits, worklife balance, etc will be equal or better than at Pepsi.

If our raises and bonuses stink again this year, I’m leaving.

The work life balance is dismal. Our base salaries aren’t competitive. By company strategy, they want to pay you at 70% of your market salary.

Agreed. everything is cloak and dagger. mostly daggar. so many people whose only crime is the demographic they reresent or the year that they started with the company. Very sad.
