“Laid off” LP here. Got denied unemployment because I “received” a severance. Hmm I’ve been without a job since 2/1 but haven’t seen a cent of money. Fighting this b---s---. F--- Lowe’s, God bless.

I don't think they were trying to con you. It's a fact. State unemployment laws differ. In my state you can get unemployment, but you must wait until after the weeks covered by the severance payment end. So if you got 6 weeks of severance, you have to wait six weeks to apply for UI. Lowe's has no control over that.

It's based on the laws of the state you live in. Look up the laws regarding unemployment and find out what is really going on with it.
Unless Lowes denied it by fighting it your state is the reason for denial. Sorry, that really s---s!
