Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Cutting workers to this degree is dangerous for the company

And I’m not just talking about throwing talent and experience out the door, which is a whole different story, but all also that trimming the company’s resources with these cuts put into question the company’s ability to operate as efficiently as it used to. Think that those will just create a big mess.

You are a fool! you never worked in a shop or on a track gang. you think union people are over paid ? that tells me you never worked with your hands for 8hrs a day in the cold and rain. Those wages were set thru years of collective bargaining with honorable people that of which the UP has none left ! So pay your people min wage and watch your injury rate sore! But you think its ok just replace them ? execs are way over paid .All part of corp greed! get you some.

Honestly its because it is pretty hard to wear yourself out or get injured sitting behind a desk, typical executive douchebag.

"At Union Pacific, we reduced employee reportable injury rates by 54 percent from 2007 to 2017, celebrating the lowest reportable injury rate in our history and moving us one step closer to our goal of zero incidents and zero injuries."

Honestly, the more we let go of our "higher paid" and unionized workforce, the safer, more efficient, and more productive we get, and drastically so.
