Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

I also still love my job

Ever since I quit UP a few years ago work has been great.

Seriously, the girl that posted about how great a quality of life UP has blah blah blah. Ok....in statistics you are what is called an outlier. Out of a large block of data, decisions aren’t based on an outlier. The outlier is discarded because it doesn’t represent reality. Or to put it in another way, what you’re telling us isn’t useful to anyone.

However, I can understand why you would need to come on this website and tell everyone how great UP is. I mean that’s going to make a bunch of people that were layed off feel much better about themselves. So thanks for having the courage to care.

I agree with this poster. I also love my new job, although I was laid off by UP and didn’t quit. At one point in my career with UP, I was working 80 hours/week for a year and a half to deliver on uneducated promises by M&S. I had mostly wonderful co-workers who were just as dedicated. A lot of us made the hard choice of relocating to UPC when UP decided to close down our location. We were hard workers and good performers- with TPTs, promotions, stock awards, and bonuses to prove it. When I look back at some old photos of us, no one is really left at UP except for the one individual among us with the worst character and ethics who was promoted to a general director position. When you find a new job outside of UP, you’ll start feeling like your old self again. It’s like getting out of a bad relationship that you didn’t realize was bad and fought to keep. In hindsight, you’ll wonder what took you so long. I feel for everyone still left at UP and wish you well.

Seems you missed the whole point why she wrong and mindlessly thought it worth a second thread.

She judged others she didn't have a clue about. That is the only thing she did wrong. Good for her that she found "satisfied". Judging others not knowing any circumstance was her begging for comeuppance.

And now you are doing it with new strawman of your own. Some of you people are way to bored, get outside a bit, it will do you much good.
