Layoffs while others offered either a demotion or severance. Yet, in the CC&S dept (formerly NCSC), there were several promotions to General Director. Really, why would that dept need a VP, AVP, and 3-4 General Directors? Seriously, thought the whole idea was to flatten the organization, not to insert more layers. They say it was just a title change and no raises. But, we all know they’ll be grossly rewarded come this time next year.
It’s sickening too when you look at the nepotism like atmosphere of those in leadership positions, especially on the 14th floor of UP headquarters. Hardly any of them know anything about operations or fundamentally how the railroad works. And, they have the nerve to ask their remaining employees who know anything to teach them. Backwards thinking does not progress things forward!!!
