Anyone willing to share what was in the severance package for non agreement this week? I'm wondering if it was the same as last fall, and especially given that bonuses were the day before layoffs. I don't think they are done, I find myself almost hoping I am in the next round so I don't have to worry about it any more.

F--- UP I worked for 10 yrs my severance is secret but f--- UP. I got 45,000. About 6 months worth. After taxes and paying Cobra I f---ing owe them. What a shame they treat employees the way they do. I hope they crash and burn.
Sh-- the people they gave sign on bonuses to in the crafts didn't even get the last installments of that.
Yeah. For those under five years, why are they continuing to take Tier II, when we’ve already donated all those thousands we’ll never get?
It’s based on YOS. 0-4 years get 4 mths, 5-10 years 6 mths, 10-20 8 mths, etc up to one year. My question is why do they get to take out RRB Tier I and II if we aren’t RR ee’s anymore? When it doesn’t count towards our service. Anyone know??
I got to keep my hard hat.
That isn't the severance amount. Severance is based on tenure. That shows the benefit length for outplacement and career transition services. From my own firsthand experience, I would highly recommend that people take advantage of that benefit - very helpful and paid for by UP as part of our severance. UP does make it hard to find how to contact the provider though - you have to look through the paperwork closely to find the contact info. Severance seems like it's level based. 2 months if you are level 25-17. 3 months if you are 16,15. 6.5 months if level 13,14. 1 year if executive level. I don't have a severance letter, so can't verify.
Oopsie not a secret anymore
Its generally 6mo salary for those under 10 years. Not much of a secret. Not much once you pay tax and cobra.
I think it's ok to disclose the terms if you have not signed the agreement.
Must be nice to get a severance
I noticed that in the agreement I received yesterday...strictly confidential...
It's a secret. Seriously. It's in the Termination Agreement, Section 7.
"The terms of this Release shall remain strictly confidential between Employee and Company. Employee may disclose terms to Employee's attorney, tax advisor and spouse/domestic partner, but the terms otherwise shall not be disclosed to third persons unless required by law."
