Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Anybody still believes nothing will happen today?

Whoever said nothing is planned right now is honestly an incredibly naiive individual. I don't want to call you out, but Jesus, seriously? How sheltered/disconnected from the business are you?

Essentially everyone who works at HQ already is aware that something big is coming out Friday. They don't announce early bc of how the stock could react to the news absent context - which will be what the q4 earnings call provides. Maybe if you learned a little more about how the game/corporate rat race worked, you would understand. In fact, here's some homework - go look at recent earnings calls by other companies and identify how many of them announced layoffs. And then check their message boards here to see what the conversation looked like prior to the official public announcement

OP is @XBqsLJQ-ctn.

And the 4 new “division” leads were promoted from senior BP to “President”. How many jobs will it take to pay for those salary + stock option increases?

Restructuring and impairment charges

2019 Multi-Year Productivity Plan

In the quarter and year ended December 29, 2018, we incurred restructuring charges of $138 million (recorded $3 million in cost of sales, $100 million in selling, general and administrative expenses and $35 million in other pension and retiree medical benefits expense) in conjunction with the multi-year plan we publicly announced on February 15, 2019 (2019 Productivity Plan).

The 2019 Productivity Plan will leverage new technology and business models to further simplify, harmonize and automate processes; re-engineer our go-to-market and information systems, including deploying the right automation for each market; simplify our organization and optimize our manufacturing and supply chain footprint.
