Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Maybe we just got the date wrong

I would advise those who fell relief that nothing major happened today to hold of their celebrations. It’s more likely that we got the date wrong , rather than nothing big is in the making. Layoffs rarely occur on friday and monday or even tuesday seem to be a logical time. Hope I’m wrong but in my experience most rumors turn out to be true, so forgive me if I don’t have a more optimistic approach.

Layoffs started Friday in White Plains...if you happen to go through the HR department you would see lots of conference and talk rooms with Kleenex and water bottles. Also a number of visitors - outplacement support to meet with impacted employees. Layoffs will continue into next week - all employees will be told to work from home next Friday so severed employees can come back and clean out their desks. Field layoffs will continue into next week as they implement the new structure.

The person questioning if Al Carey was on the letter must not work for PepsiCo. He spoke at the Forum/Town Hall this morning. He was first on the letter from him and Seth.

What Region? Guessing Great Lakes, MidAtlantic, South, or Mountain, based on where the new four sectors are located?

Al Carey’s retirement is effective at the end of March. Very common for outgoing execs to take the burden of announcing difficult news such as layoffs rather than leave that to their replacement.

Fake news.

From Al Carey/Seth Kaufman letter..."Over the next few days, individual associates will learn about how these organizational changes impact them. You’ll learn more and have a chance to ask questions at Town Halls on Thursday, Feb. 21 as well as at subsequent team meetings."

It's happening and if not today for sure next week. From the sounds of it everything should be done by the Town Hall on Thursday.
