Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo is HORRIBLE at Change Management

It is so disturbing that we all have to speculate about reorgs when our leaders could just inform us that a reorg is going to happen. It's the same story year after year. It's so rude to leave us in the dark. Morale declines every time we reorg because they never manage it properly. I've never heard of a company reorging as much is PEP. It's ridiculous! I'm actively looking for employment. I think my function is safe but if I'd get a good severance I'd be happy to go.

Director level in certain departments is informed slightly before. They help SDs and VP choose who gets let go.

They pretend they don't know cause they are cowards.

I'm not saying it's not planned. It's just done with a lot of secrecy which makes us all speculate like we're doing now. It's dumb!

You are right but we work here and not there. I don’t think morale is a priority here or they just think they can fix it with soda stream.

True but I think there are other companies that manage reorgs and layoffs much better.

They don’t want you to know in advance for fear of any type of retaliation. That’s why you are typically escorted out by security. Also often your manager doesn’t know you are being let go. I think legal department participates to eliminate risk of lawsuits. That’s the way it’s done. There’s more planning than you think it just seems unplanned.
