Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

How to be "more agile?"

Seems to be the new favorite phase around here. "You need to be more agile!" Considering that I'm already doing the work of several people, I'm really not sure how more "agile" I can get.

What's with GE management and all the buzz words that have nothing to do with reality?

Here at GE Salem, the buzzword is "engaged", as in the employees need to be 'engaged'. Or, as we are often told by assistant warden TW, we are behind due to 'lack of engagement'. However, we are always sufferring from shortages to build the jobs. When this is pointed out to "Leadership" the response is "Don't let the shortages slow you down". Current MSO is a prime example of GE failure on the local level. Don' worry though, it all be solved for India.

you are a couple of years behind. all those sayings were (over)used already. with Cumstock, Ragu and the rest of the do nothings out the door, look for less use of those wasted sayings

Thank a fast paced weak minded millennial with no life skills as soon as possible. GE management tell millennial boss,go out on the shop floor n piss off all the older employees by using buzzwords .oh yeah then switch it up a little n ask em if they wanna work overtime Saturday after treating said employees like dog sh--. Works Everytime.

Typical company buzzwords. "Agile" and "Lean" - move faster and do more work so management can look good, but you will make the same money. Less OT and possibly get new hires laid off.

"Change" - usually means doing the same thing a bit different with no actual improvement to quality nor production. But PowerPoint presentation will be doctored to look like sliced bread.

"Transparency" - but I thought we were all held to the Letter anyway? Does this mean we have hidden the truth in the past?

And the list goes on....

It's GE. The manager who talks the most like HR wins.
