Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Bonus

Are they paying a bonus this year? And when? Don’t we usually know what the bonus pool is by now?

The right view? Let's see, $2 stock. Bonus money is better spent drilling wells.

Wow - everyone b--ches about the stock price and still don't want to cut overhead. Bet there are a few DVN people that would gladly take a salary at CHK with no promise of a bonus or raise.

Got to be tough for DL and cronies to watch Devon take control of their destiny. Right now CHK is not even in the same atmosphere as DVN, CLR, Gulfport.

@XBE5tBT-juo yeah... you're not taking the right view. In this industry, you have to pay bonuses. It's how it works. No bonuses, employees walk. No employees, no business. CHK is already leaking talent in a big way, and many departments are strapped for bodies as is. Start punishing the employees for the management's foibles, and that will go even further towards degrading morale, which is already extremely low.

Almost six years and counting..... we were so hopeful when Aubrey was kicked to the curb. Now here are, the organization filled Anadarko cronies, underperforming yet taking huge salaries. This company will soon announce its 8th straight loss. Nothing these jackasses have predicted has come to fruition.

I am a stockholder as well, and I am extremely disappointed in the stock price. Other companies are doing much better. How many years upon years do we need to wait after the founder left? 10, 15, 20, 30 years?

As a shareholder I am honestly offended that any bonuses would be paid given the performance of the company. Put the money in the company and drill. Potential increase in stock price will be meaningful to everyone and tax free.

We should hear about the funding percentage and our end of year performance when they host the fourth quarter townhall.
