Lowes won't know for many months until the new company is listed on your credit report. But, there is no one watching this c-ap.
3 questions......Are non compete clauses really legal? Are non complete clauses really enforceable? And the obviously rhetorical are they ethical?

I was also told that the PSI severance does not include a non compete clause. I asked four times to be sure.
LP severance package paperwork makes no statement regarding a noncompete policy.
It's more focused on waiving right to sue the company.
