Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

pto cut

well im sure cutting pto accrual rates for all employees will improve employees attitudes!!

as most employees are part time your now only earning a fraction of time for vacation..

as a employee of 5 yrs thanks to their current pto program that they say we wanted!!

im earning .44 so at that rate i will now earn 12 whole hours of vacation time in a year!!

instead of the 40 to 60 hours i earned in previous years!!

thank you walmart for showing how you feel about all your hard working associates!!!

Yep Walmarts newest way to screw its employees and squeeze out another buck for the shareholders. You know it's a sinking ship when the company resorts to taking from its employees every year. I used to accrue 12 hours PTO a pay period, it's now down to 10 hours (PPTO included), thanks Walmart! Not many company's where you can go backwards in both pay and vacation time over the course of a few years, I've done both at Walmart 👍

PTO accrual has changed.

Used to accrue .5 hours for every 8 hours, now you accrue .5 hours for every 10 hours.

Guys/gals...

The same pto accrual rates stay the same (except for new part timers who will only earn protected pto that you can't even use for vacation time). The only thing is part of your pto is protected. I keep reading online how protected can be used like regular pto, but there's nowhere in the policy that says we can. In our store, they are only letting us use regular pto for our vacation requests and will only let us use protected for when we call out.

Maybe you should talk to all the lazy ppl that count points and whine when they really need to use them. Most hourly associates that complain about this are lazy and deserve to be fired.

Yes, I was building up 8 hours every pay day, now I get 5.4 in my PTO account.

If you look at the grand total of pto and protected pto that you can earn in a yeAr it is the same amount that you could earn last year. Stop complaining....at least now you can call in with protected pto and it can’t count against you!

Give it a month or three... and they will be losing some pretty good workers. "Life happens", but it isn't anything that can be predicted... it just happens.

It now will take a 6 week to earn the pto to equal what I was making every two weeks. On top of that the Ppto is such a small amount earned each week it will take forever to accrue 8 hours, so better hope I don’t get sick before then..
