Identify the foreman's that cause and make more problems then there worth that should've been fired 10xs over, that have no clue of what there suppose to do or how to manage there workers time that have tons of E.E.O. complaints that refuse to read what's against a bad locomotive and puts a locomotive that needs to be fixed on a train as a leader! That covers for his friend or relatives when they make more problems and create more downtime!!!! as a veteran of 20 plus yrs the foreman's are the biggest problem just because your relationship with the director or Dad new someone is poor business. Most have zero experience zero knowledge of the task at hand nor can communicate with there employees or fellow sup. To complete very simple task. That's the real problem line the work up in a matter that keeps crafts working the work is there get rid of bad apple foreman's period. Listen to the crafts, they perform the task every day and know how to get the job done effectively the foreman's put you on some job that has no parts, that is not ready to work and moves the power several times to play games. Every crafts person can tell you how to do the job better and faster and most of all safer. Make foreman's position a lead man spot. There is your solution.

As with any group or craft you have good and bad, the good is worth there weight in gold the bad makes EVERYONE look bad.
Maybe after 20+ yrs you should step up into a leadership position....oh wait, then you would have to give up your precious a-- time and work for the whole 8 hrs. Real easy to b--ch about a job you are not willing to do. Maybe look at the whole picture through the foreman's eyes and not just your slice of the pie. What he see's and what you see are probably way different pictures with way different constraints.
