Non-essential services have been outsourced. For some strange reason, HR and the Executives haven't been outsourced, but that will change in a few years.
With AI becoming smarter and smarter - soon it will drive our vehicles for us. That same AI will also replace the bloated executive teams and all of HR. AI can do a lot better in decision making than the CEO and HR, at a fraction of the cost. No need then anymore for executive bonuses or corporate jets - AI will crunch the numbers in no time and make the correct business decisions - without needing to take trips to Europe or lobby Congress.
AI executives and HR also won't need to do 'favors' with other AI in order to get a promotion or keep their jobs. The intelligence to replace these people already exists in a way with the cashier-less checkouts being used. You won't need a 'super' computer to do their jobs - most of it is repetition anyways.
So yes automated processes are replacing many regular employees - and will eventually be able to replace the clueless CEO's and HR teams for many businesses, resulting not only in huge cost savings, but better business decisions.
