The upcoming 1,100 job cuts is the 2019 round of layoffs. The long term Nationwide strategy is for another round of cuts in 2020 as policy counts and premium continues to go down. Sad that so many good people are being affected.

I can assure you that this is not the case of one bored individual posting “scary” rumors. We were told in 2018 that there’d be various cuts across the company, not just one region, not just one department. The 2018 cuts were to be 1,100. There were rumors from downtown that additional 1,000 job would be cut in 2019. The 2019 cuts have already started.
Focus appears mainly on claims but other departments such as underwriting, finance, etc..are getting hit, too. No one is safe frontline managers or claims adjusters.
I am very curious why no Columbus news outlet has picked up this big news. Why is that?’!?!
Many people were given a 60 day notice this week
I just lost my job yesterday with this company after being told 3 weeks ago it was safe. Yes they are laying off thousands of employees in Property and Casualty. Poor leadership and poor financial decisions are causing thousands of hard working employees to be laid off without warning. It appears as though the P&C side is going to be sold to a competitor soon and it's being done for profitability. Rasmussen did the same thing at Allied before Nationwide bought them. Don't worry though, the top level still has it's private jets and Peyton, Brad and Dale Jr. are going to get paid their millions because we can't let the millionaires lose 1 penny off their salaries!
Source ... ? Seems like the same person posting this same thing without citation. Internet rumor until you put up a source of your information. Otherwise, you're wasting your time.
Well here I thought this company was a good one...
