WM pharmacies part with CVS Caremark over a pricing dispute

It appears that the end of a partnership will be the outcome of the dispute between WM and CVS over the high reimbursement rates in CVS Caremark's network of PBM.

Anyone with CVS-administered d--g benefits and Medicaid enrollees with CVS d--g coverage will be affected if the split happens, CVS said Tuesday. That means pr-scrip-ions filled at a Walmart pharmacy might not be eligible for coverage by their d--g plans.

CVS didn't play the WM game. WM dictates what they will sell your products in the store to the point where you could be selling your items below cost/profitability. (For the seller, not WM.) It's a good way for a new, small entrepreneur to break into a market but not make any money.

CVS also has to make a profit and stay relevant unlike Sears and Gymboree. CVS gave WM the middle finger because they didn't play the WM game of screwing their sellers.
