I apply and am lucky to get calls. The reason? Lowes is on my resume. We are no longer well thought of in the community.

As Lowe's flounders more and more, the word is getting out there about how they treat employees, etc. Customers make comments all the time about people they know who worked at Lowe's and how abusive their co-workers and managers were toward them. Lowe's has a reputation for having bad management so you are instantly labeled as being lousy when trying to get hired outside.
It all depends on where you live and what jobs are available in those areas. Florida is the minimum wage capital of the world it seems. Most jobs have gone to those who migrated here after all of the hurricanes over the past several years. Don't demean people because they are telling the truth.
not all of use have Lowes management experience, some of us actually work.
I found the opposite. in fact because I had Lowe's management experience I got store manager opportunities. It's a large corporation and that helps you. I had multiple job offers when I was laid off from Lowe's..

Not a snowflake here. Put 3 through college with income made at Lowes. Now I want a job with more meaning and opportunities and am getting doors shut because Lowes is not considered a place of quality.
Get off your parents couch and live a life. Then you can earn your condescending grumpy butt attitude and be ignored by your sheltering family.
