Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

I work overnight stock and our store would fall apart without overnight stockers

Wal-Mart is a joke. I work over night stock and our store would fall apart without overnight stockers. At our store, Cap1 and Cap 2 fails at getting the job done. Mainly because of poor supervision. 3rd shift stocks all departments, including grocery,

dairy and frozen. Department managers are notorious for standing in groups, talking and hiding out so they can avoid work. Our store manager is always on vacation. Cap 2 stocks in groups per aisle, talking and laughing all the while stocking at a snails pace. 1st and 2nd shift can't even get returns done but leaves 20+ carts for 3rd shift to do. They even hide the return carts through out the sales floor. Our store manager doesn't care. Our employees get high on breaks out in the parking, it's overlooked. Associates get fired and rehired... what a joke. The worse is we can't keep new employees because the old associates runs them off with thier bad attitudes and slacking work ethic.

Same is happening at my store as well. @X1M6jUH-5sut summed it up well.

Everyone would like to believe that your the one !! Your team is the one that makes it happen ! Well I’m am sure you may be in your store. I’m here to tell you that your store will continue to move forward if you are not there. They will come in one day and tell your whole team you are going to 2/11 or cashier or cart pusher or what ever position they have available by this certain day. If you do not want to do it you can consider yourself given notice. I’ve seen it and I’ve actually done it to stores. The stores survive just fine they always do. It’s the Walmart way.

Total opposite here. First shift has to finish shocking because Cap 2 the previous day and Third shift never gets it done. Plus we are still expected to do our processes and more.

Bunch of whiny asses. Kind of hard to stock the store with the amounts of customers we have and heaven forbid people get called to push carts, cashier or whatever during the day. Sh-- happens, deal with it.

That sums it up for my husband's store as well. He is overnight ASM- starts at 8pm has to complete previous shift work so that he can actually get to his own work- frozen/dairy take double the time needed to complete their job and my husband is EXPECTED to stay until it is all done instead of the opening manager taking over the shift. He ends up working 16 hour days, while the other ASMs slack off all day, they are in the clique with the store manager that treats all white managers and employees with baby gloves and all minority ASMs and employees are held to higher work standards and stricter attendance policies. At Walmart it doesn't matter if you're educated, a hard worker, and have impeccable work ethic-it only matters that you kiss up to the store manager and the Market manager to get into the 'safe zone'. Their ethics department is a joke. There is clear discrimination at the store but nothing is ever done about it. If you complain you better be ready for the retaliation, more work, less help, impossible deadlines even for a whole team of workers much less for a single person.

Yeah, that's the way I remember it.

About 4 yrs ago was when my store started with that cap team stuff, and I saw exactly what you described: the biggest clique party of management's favorites standing around doing n o t h i n g. Cap leads: strutting around with clip boards and pens, snapping orders at we day stockers; remix or frozen or dairy truck comes, they're all watching 1 or 2 of us struggling with a 1,800 piece load. Fk those worthless bums, all part of what I'll never miss about Walfart.

I hate Walmart now. Stocking is done during the day now and it is almost impossible to shop with carts blocking every aisle.
