Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Uh... how does 365 stores changing into WFM stores mean "all 365 TMs need to find new jobs"? Who else would do the jobs that they are already doing?

Wait what? The pay cap is going to increase every month until may? No that cant be true. Is it?

$38.10 for team leader is pretty cool. N team members capped at $45k/yr not bad at all. Just labor budget is wats killing everyone now. W pay increase n no labor budget adjustment why would they do this?? drives me crazy. There are actually 4 zones w different pay caps. Md/dc/va region of course got the highest pay. Looking forward to get to $38.10 soon. Any astl here that can say its worth to move up to astl moving forward? Ive seen lots of astls losing their jobs for petty reasons. N working 60+ hrs some weeks its just a bit too much. Is the 4% cap increase still in effect?

Yes labor bands Increased. Each month now till May it increases a bit more too. Specific instructions about not cutting hours and trying to shift hours to other shorter depts if necessary

The pay is really exceptional but medical really s---s now. WFM used to have the best of both but not anymore. Medical is an important benefit to a lot of people. Amazon has a better medical plan for their Amazon employees. I am hoping they will improve ours.

These wages are not bad at all. Although there are three separate sets of wages for wfm stores depending on the location. The 365 store concept was id--tic to begin with. Mackey essentially advertised the fact that we opened a new alternative to expensive whole foods and called it 365. It re-enforced the whole paycheck moniker. Instead Mackey should have doubled down on what made WFM different, which was the customer experience and service.

Most stores a re now in a situation where there is not enough labor for the front end to operate efficiently. We have long lines and outdated technology. Customers are literally walking out because they don't want to wait in one of the three registers that are open. Amazon needs to focus on the customer experience now by hiring people who know what they are doing, updating store technology, keep items in stock, and speed up the checkout process.

Those wages are great, but yeah it wouldn’t encourage anyone to move up to ASTL....If I can make 23 an hr just to show up and not do anything illegal....topped out team member sounds pretty good. it will be interesting to see how we make those labor budgets actually work when we could not with much lower wages...anyone know what that plan might be. It has to be using less employees in the stores and changing the product mix where we don’t have to prep anything in store.

So the current 365 stores are going to be changed into regular Whole Foods? What a shame. The private label offerings at 365 is what makes it a bit more affordable and some of those products are actually very good. Some of the private label products can't even be found at regular WF. The 365 in my neighborhood is always jam packed. So unfortunate that it'll turn into an overpriced old model that isn't really special anymore.
