There are so many good companies, with rich vibrant cultures and career building opportunities out there that will renew your vigor for work and help you realize a rewarding career....there is just no good reason ride this UP situation out past bonus payout. Get looking now...expand your peer network and gracefully exit on your terms. The other side of this won’t look pretty, even in late 2019 when the board realizes that neither G55 nor Vision2020 will be realized.

Can anyone recommend great places to work that offer good pay and good insurance?
Absolutely right on. There ARE many people who need to stay and finish out their term for retirement purposes. Walking (running) away isn't necessarily best for ALL people. But, as stated already, heck yeah if you're not heavily invested into it...run for Dodge!!
I respect your opinion but for a lot of these people it’s not that easy. I was cut off in November but got a full severance (over 30 years of service) and was close to retirement anyway.
Some people have too many years to leave but not yet enough to earn retirement. Others work very specific tasks that may not translate well to other companies. I was in IT and I’d have to say that like the guy in the movie, I had a “particular set of skills” that aren’t really in demand outside UP.
So if you can leave, I agree — have at it. It’s probably best for the long term. But let’s respect those who are riding it out hoping to stay to complete their career.
Good post. Get your bonus and leave on your terms. We all see that UP is no longer what it used to be and it isn’t coming back. We had a great run but all good things must come to an end. Consider your experience at UP a great opportunity...time to move on. (After bonus time of course).
Seniority move, thanks.
