Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Do it right for less

Reading about the new Lowe’s slogan “do it right for less” that the company deployed in light of the announced changes to the company. Not a bad slogan, I admit, but I imagine that whoever thought of it didn’t have a hard time doing so, as this slogan is definitely in-line with the company leadership philosophy of doing business.Obviously they are trying to make the company work right, with less experienced, less dedicated, less expensive, and less qualified workers. Maybe it’s just me, but I found this new company slogan to be a good metaphor for the recently announced hirings- while- massively-laying-off-workers move that the leadership pulled.

They always advertise things that they are unable to really do and that gives additional black eye to Lowe's in the customers' eyes. Look at the advertising about appliance delivery. Lucky if customers can get it a week or two out and definitely can't get it same day or next day. I wish they would stop following and try to lead into a new direction. Just because Home Depot did something ten years ago doesn't mean we should do it now. Times change and we need to be fresh idea focused.

The slogan is another lie. As I mentioned in another thread, I found it usually took my Lowe's discount to match Home Depot prices. And sometimes that didn't even do it, but I'd gladly pay a bit more to shop with our own team.

No longer. I was loyal to Lowe's, but Lowe's wasn't loyal to me. We are about 3/4 done with a remodeling job, and still have to buy some supplies. We are do-it-yourselfers ourselves, and we'll be buying at Home Depot from now on.

Marvin better dropping prices then because we are way more expensive than Home Depot, Walmart, or any pic the niche stores.

What is their idea of "right"?

Or will they get it right with Millennials their Prime shoppers?

What does this all mean?

They have no vision. They’re turning Lowes into the K Mart of home improvement. They will epically lose operating as a low price leader. HD, Menard’s Walmart, Amazon, etc will have them for lunch.
