Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

What does this say about Union Pacific management

Being let go would be a huge relief!! I am waiting to see if I am offered a severance. If not and I am left to continue my employment at UP, I will take my vacation, after I receive my bonus, and walk away.

How many people feel like this? I know I'm not far from a similar decision. Isn't it sad that when company is doing so good, it's employees are feeling this bad? What does that say about our management?

The "work" is not bad. The hatred for the employee is what is bad. Think it would be a good place for a railroad, they already have rails, ties, and whatnot already in place!.

Wait....... you got a bonus? I’ve with U.P since 08 and never got a penny more than my paycheck. Oh wait..... I got 5 days severance pay when I got cut right before Christmas.

It is so bass akwards that I got hired during a recession and let go during record profits. U.P is doing great financially and every employee gotta worry about their job. Except the top executives... apparently they don’t have enough staffing so they bring on Jim Vena the new COO while cutting everywhere they can. Union Pacific is so messed up.
