Then she had the nerve to put UPs heratage in the forefront saying “we have been doing this for 150 years!” I come from a long line of railroaders, My dad who worked for UP for 34 years and is now in his mid 70s can’t believe what UP is doing. It pisses him off too. This is not tradition. This is greed and lunacy

UPRR took the trump tax cuts to buy back stock and then go nuts getting rid of every person that made them their net profits and who was paid well. Every corporation is doing the exact same thing. Good Luck American Workers you just F----d yourself.
Well, I'm the wife of the railroad. We live in North platte ne. My husband got the word today that he will be laid off Feb 12th. 34 machinist, 26 electricians, 14 mso and 10 pipe fitters. That does not include the ones who lose their jobs. 9 years down the drain.

Shes not influential, inspiring or a leader by any definition. The front page article is just another tone deaf logs thrown on the up heap. Shes just collecting a paycheck, much like her peers. Because guess, what, if she gets removed, shes still a bazillionaire and dosent have to work. Life goal achieved! Advice to leadership: stop talking. Youre making things worse.

How can we take away the positive when many of us built lives around working for this company and have our livelihoods at risk? How can those those who were laid off take away the positive of selling a home they can no longer afford, or have to spend money they can't afford to relocate for work at another rr, had their holidays dashed and can't do for their families like they planned? One things certain... how will those of us be able to contribute to change? By doing the work of 2 or 3 people. And what's worse is the injuries and deaths thay will accrue because of it. They know it too, anyone else notice the propaganda tubes beaming the video stressing safety and follow the rules?

Given transportation has always had furloughs here and there based on business and flow of freight while other departments have seen layoffs in decades. Either way getting rid of nearly an entire 1/3 of the work force is unprecedented! Somebody should tell the b--ch to keep her mouth shut or recommend the company save alot more money canning her a-- and keep those of us who make their money possible let alone their jobs viable!
