Walked into work like any other day today (Beltway) and was told to pound sand. Let go and walked out by security. Have been at Hal for 7 years now....made the cuts during 2014-15. Have gotten decent performance reviews and everything. Wonder if it's because I'm a white male? They hate those.

Halliburton is the most racist company I've ever worked for, so I think you were laid off because you were sh--, tbh. They laid off a load of good guys, leaving loads of dross and a---kissers managing. Now it's their turn. Still crooked on top.

Halliburton already laid off 50,000+ employees since 2014 that is 50% headcount reduction.

Sir - i’m sorry to hear the information regarding your white, male a**. I do wish you all the best in your efforts going forward. Do though take comfort in the fact that you are not alone as there are other “unworthy” classes of individuals as well ranging from the old, the almost old, hairy, overly represented statistically, etc. But do take solace in the fact that at HAL every individual is truly considered sacred and to arrive at these decisions is extremely hard and unsatisfying, although it has gotten much easier and more mundane lo these past 5 years. But all in all rest assured it is a decision that management regrets and takes very seriously. Management regards the human asset to be amongst the most forgiving assets at its disposal, which eases the pain of “better you than me”. So, in closing good sir, chin up, head high go forth and pursue your true passion and by the way, Merry Xmas.
