Around 1,400 jobs in oil and gas based in Aberdeen are expected to be lost in the next three years, according to a new report.

Professional services firm EY has issued a 2019 forecast for Scottish economic growth.

The report states that employment in Aberdeen is expected to fall by an average of 0.1% annually between 2018 and 2021, with oil and gas being the “hardest-hit” sector.

EY estimates 1,400 jobs will be lost in the sector within that period.

Quality of life in Aberdeen is the best in the U.K. and if you are lucky enough to have a Baker type salary then you are in the top 5% of the worlds best off people

If I have a complaint about Aberdeen it’s that the people can be too nice sometimes

Ha ha ha ha ha Aberdeen house prices and wages going up don't speak piss.

I am up in Aberdeen each month and the place is a ghost town.

5 years ago now since it was busy.

60% reduction on day rates

Houses down 40%

Rent down 56% and still falling

Aberdoom is a hole and is a terrible state, dirty, empty shops everywhere, and only getting worse.

The city has had its day.

BHGE has been paying off people in Aberdeen for years.

Almost every month in our office 1 or 2 people seem to get paid off. They keep the numbers low so don't have to report it.

3 years ago we had 37 just in our department which now has 9 and 3 of them are trainees (not sure who they are training from as no experince left in our office it's a joke. )
