So today we are informed of some policy changes to the hrly workforce. If you have work restrictions because of a injury of any sort, and your dr places you on light duty, you will be moved to work under SFO to do a job that can be done with your work restrictions. No more, out collecting comp or disability if you have restrictions, or light duty in the area you work in. If your Dr orders Physical Therapy, you can no longer get PT at the clinic during your scheduled work shift, you must go there or elsewhere on your own time. If you have any Dr appointments, you can no longer go when your on the clock via a cab from the clinic.
Now much of this makes sense to stop those that have s---ed off the system for absolute b---s--- injuries or issues. But to those that get hurt because of incompetent management, shouldn't also have to pay the price of not being able to get dr ordered treatment on company time! I for instance can go to a PT facility off campus and let Electric Insurance pay way more than it costs to do it at the clinic, and if my dr decides I should be on restrictions, Ill explain that restrictions are no longer a option and just get pulled from work all together. So the company is now forcing the workforce to cost the company more money in the big picture! The id--ts that don't think through these things are a big reason why our business is failing so severely.
Add all of this to the blatant mismanagement across the shop floor, the extreme disconnect between the shop floor and upper management, the blatant disregard for company quality policy's, the failure to follow engineered building process's and procedures, the allowing of un educated management forcing hourly to do things the wrong way, or being threatened to be sent home if they don't, all adds together to prove to those hourly workers that actually give a damn about the work they do, to start to questions why? There is absolutely NO one to talk to on the salary side to address so many current issues. NO one on the salary side has proven they know how to separate those that talk b---s--- out of their lips, to those that care and actually know what they are talking about. NO one on the salary side that wants to ensure that their coworkers follow the company rules and regulations as they should, so they can keep a friendly drinking buddy for the weekends? I've asked Salary, Hourly, Union Officials, and HR, what to do, Absolutely no answers of any kind. Its sad that the hard work of thousands before us, are turning into nothing at all.
Until the places closes down or a management team comes along willing to actually listen and make meaningful changes that will help our future, its time to follow the old adage, if ya cant beat em, join em. Yup, 1 more hourly guy throwing his hands up and saying f--- it!!!
