I am in Lordstown and I was told no. I've heard that they expect that 10 to 20 percent of folks that will be let go may be allowed to come back, you'd need to have very specific skills that align with what they play to do in the future (you can guess what that is easily)...
This is similar to what I've heard. They are determined to cut as many as possible. Bringing people back undermines that goal.

I couldn't agree more , A car guy needs to run the company period , GM is an automotive company , the flag pole outside my work place has our American flag , a POW MIA flag and a lame diversity flag ! To me that multi colored flag has zero business being on that flag pole , companies ram this down our throats to show how open they are ! Who cares we are an auto company , if your awesome than super , regardless of your color or s-xual preference , who cares. Leave politics and the diversity horse s@#t out of our companies and let's focus on building cars. It annoying already , enough.

Shame on GM for how they handled this situation. The CEO should also be fired.
You need a car guy to run that company. Not a daddy's girl, not a furniture man, not a token or diversity bonehead. You need a car guy with car smarts. Most large dinosaur companies are failing now because they don't have the right leadership in there. So bid farewell to another company started by our fathers and grandfathers.
