Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

The big window of opportunity

The Analysts seem to be in agreement that Lowe’s moves to shut down unprofitable stores, shut down Orchard Supply Hardware, going out of Mexico etc.. were right moves that will allow the company to grow. I know the company came to a point where it had to cut out the ” infected parts”, but I can't help but think that this reorganization could have been done in a much less painful manner and not at the expense of all the jobs that were lost.

Lowe's is in a panic cost cutting mode. They are losing ground to HD every year. Losing good employees to HD. They basically are in a death spiral. Marv was hired at half the rate Niblock was.. No one is safe on the cost cutting.

Most analysts are either shills or don’t know what they are talking about half of the time. It’s all about the perception of PR. Those who can’t do, teach. Those who can’t teach, analyze. You are probably better off listening to a psychic.

I think many of the purchases in the past were done to keep Home Depot or Menards from getting them. I’ve noticed that Orchard Supply is just shutting down while the Lowes operations in Mexico they are looking for a buyer. The Iris brand of smart home products probably was done because of the Lowes innovation labs; the same people that brought us the holoroom, Lowes bot, and that silly exoskeleton suit instead of improved register software. In the Nibbles era of Lowes it seems that they spent a lot of money foolishly and now we are paying the price.
