Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Hello!

I love what I do with Windstream. I have a great management team. My supervisor is probably one of the most caring individuals on the face of the planet, and my staff manager is as well. I think that when writing this I am at a point where if they let me go, they let me go. Right now, I am in it for the long haul. My vacation time is good, but our benefits are horrible. I may be drinking the Windstream koolaid as we call it, but when I look for other jobs I could not imagine myself at anyplace else. I do look, but I never apply. Has anybody else felt like this? Has anybody done this? I know there are some disgruntled employees on this site. Just wanted to know what everyone else thinks?

"screwing your way up"

What??? WE human resources would NEVER allow that, they always have the employees - not the directors - best interest in mind....LOL

I wish I could post pictures here. I would upload a pic of a turd I just made which reminds me of windstream. And it’s not one of those fancy turds that make you think you’d be okay with a turd. This is the good old fashioned one which is so sticky you need a garden hose and a scrub brush to

remove from the side of the toilette. I named it T0ny the h@x0r.

Without nepotism, you wont make it anywhere here.

I can understand a customer care group employee saying how much they love working for Windstream. This is likely due to their limited employment options outside of Windstream. But the employees that obtained college degrees in high demand fields (STEM) are not so bound to this company.

Windstream's leadership, that is hording all the money set aside for employee wage adjustments for past several years, is creating a very toxic environment.

How does Windstream keep these high demand employees with STEM degrees engaged? The short answer is they don't. This results in many of these skilled employees quitting and moving on to other companies that care about employee morale. The employees that stay end up with additional work but with no additional compensation, further eroding employee morale and resulting in a new wave of employees leaving. This cycle has been going on for several years now but has now accelerated.

The most recent employee engagement results showed 50% of the company employees are looking for new jobs and that same percentage would not recommend working for Windstream. This situation is not what would be considered a WIN to most observers.

What is Windstream leadership's position on this low morale situation? Employees are told that "Windstream is not a Jail". Well done Windstream leadership team, well done!

You may think everything is great. For people who have been doing this a long time, the writing is on the wall. If you want to keep working there, you will be hungry soon. They don't care about you

By the way, are you in little rock??

Open your eyes. The company is going down. If you do chose not to apply with other companies, you are hurting yourself.

Windstream is the worst company that I have ever seen so I got out

Best of luck. Open your eyes

It's great that you have found a rare gem in the cesspool. However look at the company's financials, it's not great. Don't let it catch you off guard. If you have a good emergency fund then sure ride the train as long as you can. If you have no savings and your household depends on Windstream as it's main source of income then I would suggest start looking now.
