Thread regarding Sears layoffs

What are you most looking forward to in the Go Forward Plan?

I'm excited about new investments in Jacklyn Smith, Roebuck and Company and Covington. Softlines are up for a big upgrade with the new season coming up, and social media influencers cannot get enough of those leopard prints!

Expanding all Kmarts to full-line will deliver some real benefits to those stores, and help Sears capture an even greater share of customer sales. I think the recent additions to Shop Your Way will help The New Sears win with consumers demanding value from a retailer.

E-commerce is also important. The new Sears.com is much easier to use and has a huge amount of available inventory. There are still a lot of customers in areas which used to have stores and who miss the superior quality, value and style of Sears. They will order online.

Another way Sears was ahead of it's time. Ladies in their underwear for all the young horny boys in the old days. Today it's the Internet with everything you want to see or wish you hadn't. LOL

It was always a little hilarious that the wishbook devoted like 100 pages to lingerie, but in store they cared so little about softlines they hung women's clothing on the same racks they used for hardware until the Softer Side campaign in the 90s.

In my opinion Sears' decline began when it stopped sending a giant catalog of male mas----ation fantasies to every home annually. That's the true reason America bonded with Sears. For most males born between 1920 and 1980, the Sears Catalog was their first.

This go forward plan will not work any better than the transformation and turnaround plan that put the company in the mess it's in now.

The only thing going forward will be liquidation of the company.

Think the Kardashians already ended their relationship with Sears though

Cindy Crawford. 52 years old and still looks good for an old broad. I agree.

Let's bring back Cindy Crawford. I used to jack off to her wishbook lingerie spreads. She still sells some stuff at Sears, right?

Jaclyn Smith can't help the fact that she is 73 years old. The company she represents has less life left in it than she does. I hope she got her money upfront.

Jaclyn Smith is about as relevant to fashion in 2019 as Betsy Ross and Martha Washington. You'll pull her stuff out for Civil War reenactments or when the nursing home has ladies night.

OP I am looking forward to you to stop posting. You spelled Jaclyn Smith's name wrong ya boob. Show some respect. She was a good looking woman many years ago.

Jacklyn Smith ISN'T A BRAND, STOP PRETENDING THAT IT IS A BRAND, YOU ARE LYING WHEN YOU SAY IT'S A BRAND .

Covington??? You mean Simply Styled since it's what replaced Covington pretty much.

But liquidation sounds better.

An online company like circuitcity.com, bonton.com, and toysrus.com. Yes those still exist too.

What excites me is the go forward liquidation. Move to something profitable. If it is just an online company then so be it. Transform employees to customer service reps, phone and online sales reps with English we can all understand. Train the employees to know more than the customer. Drop the sales gimmicks and sell merchandise, appliances and tools. Be knowledgeable about your business. Stop pushing cheap merchandise simply because the margin is higher. Gain the customer's trust again. Allow them to say no, if they dont want to give their data to be members.

SYW. Killed Sears. That should be the first on the chopping block. Quit calling customers "members". Sounds like pubic hair. Ick!

Lol...Sears/Kmart barely has products on their shelves now...you think new stuff is going to magically appear? They have like no relationship with any vendors anymore. I don't know why I'm replying to this troll.

The old expression "It ain't over til the fat lady sings" comes to mind in regard to the state of Sears right now....

The fat lady has left her dressing room and is heading toward the stage.....

What are "the recent additions to Shop Your Way"? They laid off most of the SYW staff and have been reducing features.

It really says a lot that I'm in my 50s and I consider myself too young to be in Jaclyn Smith's target demographic.
