supervisors rotations

i just heard that there will not be any rotations for the supervisors.... only asms will have rotations and will no longer be off on Mondays due to the meetings. also store managers will not have every other weekend off anymore it will be one weekend a month and one Saturday and one Sunday. anyone have any insight on weather we will have rotations for the new supervisors?

We have to be willing to accept change, it’s just business, I get that. Unfortunately it affected many lives, just like the purge of 17’ did and it s---ed. I lost too many friends and colleagues durning that. But with Lowe’s doing away with rotations is too much. This is the deal, I think, is that for me I get 24 days a year of time off so they don’t want me to use that in conjunction with my days off. This way I get screwed and Lowe’s gets ONLY 24 days out of me. This used to be a company that was great to work for but now we’re just numbers on someone’s spreadsheet. This is my career that I chose, not just my job, but they are making it really hard for me to support these decisions. There’s not much work/life balance and they just drove another nail into the coffin

How quickly you forget that SSM were once dept mangers. They started with them first. Cut their jobs and made them apply for the SSM positions. Some of the positions were small increases in pay. Allowing them to keep their pay isn’t a big stretch. Marvin is following the same blueprint as HD! Those positions are almost exactly what they have.

There wasn’t enough pay difference between the former Department Manager pay grade S-08 and the SSM one S-09 for them to worry about it. Stop measuring peckers on who got screwed the worst.

As for the rotations, all that c-ap is going away. No other retailer gives hourly employees a set in stone rotation like this. It’s going to go to open availability and scheduled when they need you like everywhere else. Not just Dept Supervisors. All hourly staff, unless you’re in a M-F Operations position.

Don’t freak out. Just like everywhere else, managers end up cutting deals with everyone. Oh, you are willing to close every night? Maybe we’ll give you weekends off. Oh, you’ll work any shift we schedule you for if you can have every Tuesday/Thursday off for school? Done deal. Oh, you’ll only work 5am-2pm or want to dictate to your manager when you will or won’t work? You can go ahead and turn in your resignation, because you won’t be getting any shifts.

I can totally see that happening, the whole thing doesn’t make any sense service managers and ASMs were told they get to keep their pay, especially service managers who according to my Service Manager, he gets to reduce his workload and not be an MOD but keep his pay intact? So we cut hours like crazy, we are closing stores, selling divisions off, laying off employees en masse but management is totally immune from any change? I call BS they got something in the works for the SSMs and I don’t think they are gonna like it when they find out.
