Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Winterhaven

Are there any discussions about the Winterhaven office doing any "transformations" or shut downs?

I'd really like to leave the corporate world in Bloomington but am concerned about SF's stability.

I agree if not a Hub I would not go there. If I am not in a Hub today I would start getting my resume ready and work on some certifications.

I generally agree but in our non-hub location, we have started to hire from the outside for claims positions. Doesn't mean they will not close the op center within a few short years but it is a 180 degree turn around from us being told 2 years ago we were a non-growth location. At this point who the f--- knows what this company is doing anymore.

Agreed. If it’s not a hub, don’t hold your breath.

Questions to ask: 1) is it a Hub; 2) are there jobs in that location that are also being/can be done elsewhere; 3) is it a Hub; 4) is it a Hub.

If at least one answer is NO, then expect it to close within two years.

Hope this helps.
