Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Union is not coming to Georgia

Technicians in Georgia voted out the union, before the vote windstream offered every CST 8% raise every January. How can Windstream afford to do this, I just dont see it happening, just an excuse to get the union out of here, and it worked

It would have to be every non-bargaining employee that is not salary. If only GA CST's get raises, then the company violated Labor laws and Nation Labor Board charges will be filed and the judgement would be against the company. That's how it was stated in order to skirt the labor board charges. Plus it would have to include the NT's, BST's, etc.... in GA, not just CST's.

This whole subject p***es me off. Many of us haven’t received a raise in 3 years and have been told they are most likely not ever to be reinstated. It’s bs that ANYONE would get 8%. This company needs to do us all a favor and just belly up and put us all out if our misery.

Let’s see. During bargaining, the company makes it out like they will go bankrupt if they have to pay more than a 2% raise a year. That’s for 75 techs. So how many non bargaining employees are there that are supposed to get an 8% raise?

That’s fine..... keep thinking about your weekly pay and that’s it. I’ll continue not worrying about my pay increase being based off a evaluation and if my manager likes me or not. No lie....we have a manager that scores his techs at the bottom and says they are not team players if they aren’t yes men.

I’ll keep my security knowing they can’t come in on a Thursday and tell everyone they have five minutes to get there belongings and leave. We have minimum of 30 day notice for layoffs. Oh..... and knowing I have weeks and weeks of severance pay, like 26 weeks worth.

I’ll also keep my short term disability that keeps me paid for well over half a year and not go on long term disability until a year has passed. I’ll also keep my sick leave without having to worry about being disciplined for being out more than 20 hrs a year.

There’s way more, but you guys keep worrying about what that take home pay is and nothing more. When the manager comes down on you hard, I hope HR doesn’t pick the company’s side and give you all a fair chance.

Wow, that seems like a really horrible mistake. Well, good luck, though I think you put a lot of unwarranted trust in the greedy "f"s at the top.

I thought t-bag would have gone to the contractor model years ago. He must have forgotten to ask his Oracle the "Magic 8-ball" about it.

Yep....just like how the company made sure the raise was printed on company letterhead with n executive signature. Oh, wait, they didn’t.....ain’t worth he paper it was printed on.

Well it's simple. From here out it's an 8% raise for CSTs sure... To bad they are all about to get chopped and replaced with contractors. So good job boys keeping that union out here! Haven'tthe job creators have suffered enough? 👍
