Bonus and Wage Increases

Was told that even though we have billions in record profits that wage increases and bonuses will be the same as last year. So yippee......I was also told by my manager he recommended I be a 2 and was overruled by the overlords who have no clue who I am or what I do so therefore I am a 3. Really makes you want to give your all and 65+ hours a week for this place.

I don’t understand why everyone is always so hung up on getting a 2. Every year that I have been ranked a 2 has been followed a year of horror. Extra work for no extra pay, and constantly shoved into new garbage places with garbage hours, and threatened with my job for not being Johnny-On-the-Spot for having perfect numbers 30 minutes into the job.The bonuses and raises were not much different than when the rating was the 3.

Other companies are willing to pay you more. Quit complaining and go work for another company who cares about employees.

Sounds like your manager is a pu--y and isnt giving you honest feedback. If he truly believed you deserved a two, then he could have fought for it. Either that, or there are clearly better performers in your group, to which point you didnt deserve a two and it goes back to he’s a pu--y that can’t give honest feedback. Which in my experience in this company, that is a major problem, managers don’t know how to lead, coach and develop employees, and everyone thinks they’re the best at what they do when they’re not. Since leaders can’t give honest and critical feedback to improve performance and cut the fat that way, we end up having a mass layoff every year to compensate for our shortfalls.

I was recommended for a 2 by my boss but he was overruled by upper management (who knows nothing about what I do) and I got a 3. Unbelievable.

Bonus? WTF is that? Our "raise" didn't even keep up with cost of living increases over the last 5 years of bickering while trying to get a legitimate contract. Management is too inept to understand that it gets a lot harder to recruit quality employees when they are making pretty much the same wage but don't have to deal with working holidays, weekends, and nights. Quite frankly, it is nice to see non agreement employees being treated in a similar fashion to agreement employees.
