I see so many people on here given hell to Tony Thomas, bottom line its not Tonys Fault, the problem is technology is changing and Windstream can not keep up with it, Example, I was a CST, at a customers house complaining about slow speeds, he fed out of a copper switch that 37 customers are sharing 6 meg, really 6 meg, no lie. I asked my supervisor any plans on upgrading this area, he said they never would. I asked the customer who he had his cell phone service with, he said at&t, I asked if i could do a speed test on his phone, no problem, had LTE service, ran test 45meg. I told the customer pay extra and buy a hot spot with at&t, he did and he still thanks me everytime I see him. He dropped windstream and so did I, I left the company. Dont blame Tony, nobody can fix this company, If I was Tony I would be in France too, having a damn good time

Poster and t-bag are both fools. Tony just got in over his head. You know a company in going down when you let accountants run it and not someone with vision or knowledge of the industry. I asked for a great management team last year. Santa said all he had left was these bl$&:ARDS.
All I can say is take the current stock price and divide it by 5 for the reverse split just the second one and the value is .38. And they want to give this as a 401 match. It is the fault of TT and BG . Keep your stock and match w cash.

TLON Is to blame. He’s been in the C Suite the entire time, through all the failed companies he acquired only to realize he’s has his head ripped off after closing the deal.

So here’s the deal. This all is the fault of the planning group and the Executives they roll up too. Windstream sat back and watched regional cable companies build FTTH all over its foot print then took CAF dollars to build a big bad packet network only to use c-ap copper OSP to try to compete. Only nowis Windstream figuring out GPON is what they need to be doing and it’s probably too late but we’ll see. And TT and the C level executives most certainly own the majority of the situation Windstream finds itself in These guys are addicted to buying companies. They have an obsolete DMS platform and still have no plan to move to Metaswitch. Windstream still has a bunch of old Seiscore junk all over the place that gets changed out by Windstreams slacker OSP engineers only after some customer filed PUC complaints. Windstream now has all its eggs in the SD Wan and Office Suite basket. It’s ability to deliver and meet the random time interval that some marketing exec pulled out of thin air remains to be seen. Is it a tough business environment? Sure it is. Is TT the guy with the vision to get Windstream back on track? Probably not

Well the switch has been there since 2002 with alltel, supervisor is very sure of this, so what are you gonna tell this customer, give your awesome advice
I’m a cst, I get calls all the time for slow speeds, 3meg customer with great margins, run speed test 440k, the customer is frustrated, I’m standing there looking stupid cause they want what they pay for, two days later I’m back at the same house looking like a fool, just makes my job hard
The supervisor has no way of knowing when the dslam will be upgraded. That’s above his and even the engineers heads locally. Depends on usage.
Serious the question is not answered, what advice would you give to this customer
DSL is shared also....the only difference is that it is shared after the DSLAM (network side) instead of out towards the client side

Dsl is a direct connection. Cable is shared like charter or Comcast. The op has no clue what they’re talking about.
It’s throttled back at 2g. 3mb is better than any satellite or cell plan.
To the guy that said horrible replacement and horrible advice, tell me what advice would you give to this customer. He has direct tv, so at&t gives him unlimited data, so what if its throttled back, its way better than Windstream. I mean he could check his email with Windstream, but thats it, why would he pay for that. Really what advice would you give this customer
I actually agree with you. Why would you pay for horrible service. At&t gave me unlimited data cause i have cell service with them

Wrong, blame Tony. The decisions start at the top. He had a major decision on all the companies WIN purchased over the years - and is updated on what monies goes where in the company.
Horrible replacement for home internet for most people.. can’t stream or game on it and after 22gb you’re throttled way back. Glad you left the company giving horrible advice like that. There’s lots of companies in ws shoes. Ws just need new leadership to start.
