Back in the late 2000's, believe it or not WIN had decent financial health - then they thought they were AT&T and decided to go on a telco shopping spree that hasn't ended. They could have instead remained a regional telco similar to Cincinnati Bell - they haven't got the urge to try to compete with Centurylink or Frontier - they have been content with staying in their area, and actually having money to upgrade their infrastructure because they don't have a bloated system filled with every type of telco equipment made since 1980. You don't see their stock crashing and burning as bad as WIN's has the last 5 years,
And imagine if WIN had a decent CEO that replaced the previous one - somebody that knew how to properly run a company, not taking ski trips to The Alps. And the stock market falling is not the reason the company stock has become a penny stock.
Even BlackBerry returned to profitability recently once they replaced their CEO and went in another direction - it can be done if the Board of Directors had any real brains.
