Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

I received invitation to join a lawsuit

I received via the U.S. mail a letter from the law firm Gainey McKenna & Egleston to join in a lawsuit against Windstream.

Did anyone else get this letter?

Here is what the law firm is looking into:

Our investigation focuses on concerns the administrator of the Windstream 401(k) plan may have breached their fiduciary duties of loyalty and prudence to participant and beneficiaries of the plan. A breach may have occurred if the fiduciaries failed to manage the assets of the plan prudently and loyally by investing a significant amount of the assets in Company stock when it was no longer a prudent investment for participant retirement savings. A breach also may have occurred if the fiduciaries withed or concealed material information from participant and beneficiaries of the plan.

If you acquired Windstream stock in the plan. Please call the the number listed in this letter.

I will say I have joined a few class actions, most were around $20 or so, however, I did join one for mortgage fraud, ARM mortgages and I actually received a payout of over $600. I always join them.

Class action lawyers going fishing. No reason not to join. You might see a $3 check and a voucher for peanuts at the end.
