Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Redemption

The one redeeming thing in all of this is Bernard and the other past and present execs who set this course are now taking a $hit kicking with all the stocks and options they were given as bonuses.

I heard there is a new long term incentive plan going around. Whats up with it? I overheard some managers talking about it.

I know of several VPs that got stock grants and had to sign a 'no compete' for X years when they "left". X being usually 2 but have heard of 5.

WFT don’t do stock options for employees. They do RSU and PSU. No one is going to sign a 2 year non compete and no one could enforce it anyway. There is so much misinformTion on this site. About the only thing that is correct is that the SP will continue to decline, there will be some sort of despirate reverse spli that will halve the market cap within a week of it happening and the Market cap will then drift sub $100m which is basically worthless and a holding pattern before c11 happens.

I know people that had to sign a 2 year no-compete when they got let go so they could say "X chose to leave the company" instead of "X got sh!t-canned" and so that they could keep their stock options. Now they can't compete for 2 years and are left holding a bag of fukc-all.

When it comes to past execs you should pull an Elsa and let it go

Yes - most sold 11 months ago at around $4. Those still in the system will have 3 years of unvested RSU (some of which were issued close to $10) which are now close to worthless, and an equal amount of PSU (which are worthless).

That’s providing they are still holding onto them. They may have sold back at $4-ish and came out with a little profit.
