You're not old school. You're no school.
Maybe I am old school. If you are managing a plant that makes turbines I think you should know how a turbine is made. Also, even better is you know how a turbine works. It would be impressive if when the plant manager met with a customer, the plant manager could technically answer most of the customers concerns and questions. And then manage the manufacturing process to make the customer happy and returning for future purchases. GE’s demise has been because leaders are political talking heads with talking points instead of technically experienced leadership abilities.
She does come out of sourcing. We all know a sourcing mindset is different than the expertise needed to manage the plant. Maybe that is why she is interim. Regardless, I wish her the best of luck.
Doesn't she come out of sourcing?
I wish the best for her. She is taking on a tough job. I am hoping she will see through her staff’s smoke screens and help Greenville.
Any replacement for Greenville Plant Manager been names?
Too many chiefs with the Power Services org being rolled back in. Some positions were redundant. These guys make big salaries so it’s like laying off 2 Senior Engineers, in terms of cost savings.
What's the rumor, HA materials related or simply irritating his boss?
Screwed up using names
DiMascio was one they let go. He was often the voice of reason in the room when some new designer had a pet project to push.
He wasn't the only Chief Engineer let go either. I fear the foolishness that some of the others will sign off on... GE may still have enough life left to see the consequences at least.
Which Chief Engineers were let go?? First I have heard that.
His is a F---lNG id--t saying "We dont need quality". Glad to see him LEAVE
He was told Greenville is slowly going to be closed don’t blame him for leaving at all .
it was a opportunity for a better job, cant blame him one bit. ready to see how people will put a negative spin on it
He was “let go” along with the admins and a couple of Chief Engineers
He will be missed. We are losing a lot of good people.
He is leaving to pursue opportunities outside of GE Last day Jan. 15.
