Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I've been with Xerox over 40 years and I'm working on two new projects for 2019. :-)

One big problem with Xerox is some people just won't let go of the way they been doing things and embrace new approaches, they say they will but in reality they just give it lip service.

I'm excited for next year! Bring on change, even if it means I change working for a different company. It's the fun of life.

I was looking for a job when I got this one and I'm sure I can find another one, especially with this economy.

I am still amazed on how they still keep focusing on developing projects instead of actually meeting up to study their current performance per department and project investments. Nonetheless, to have people in charge from their own headquarters reviewing management performance. I am sure they will be fine replacing some with employees that can take over positions and chip in with knowledge they have acquired over the years. They really need to stop getting off track with multiple layoffs in multiple departments and just get down to the actual departments that integrate the company, and see if they are required or not. Get managers down to what they need and channel the workforce through them. Instead of having so many people in between that fair to deliver any support to this company.

I'm working on multiple "new projects" also. They are severely underfunded and are understaffed in several critical skills areas. Layoffs & retirements have resulted continual turnover and inconsistent/changing direction. The expectation is that there will be additional budget cuts next year.

Don't confuse the opportunity to work on new things with the ability of these new projects to improve the outlook for Xerox as a company. At best, they will improve the outlook for that technology to be sold to a 3rd party, perhaps with (or perhaps without) the people who have been working on it.

Sorry, but even though, Trump is saying the economy is doing great, it really isn't.

The economy doing extremely well is really the silver lining in all of this. I've seen people snatching up new positions quickly. If there was time for sh-- to hit the fan, now is better than any.
