More buyouts this time CST

Ok Monday there will be a buyout offer for select CST in ILEC markets at least. It will be offered to anyone with over six years. They need to make room for FST who will start at fast food pay and top out at 25 an hour. Meanwhile the network gets older and more trouble prone while the hiring of Network techs is not even remotely in the works. We s---.

With long-time employees that are still there in the field who yet have to retire - they will only fix what they can - India NOC will send out 100 low temperature alarms per day to areas of the system that are having winter - technicians can't do anything about alarm as equipment is working, but they easily rake in the money for at least a 3 hour call-out that they know they can't do anything about, and it doesn't hurt the equipment, and many will get called out sometimes three times a day for same alarm at same location. But India NOC will continue to call out as they are robots that must obey and can't deviate from their written orders.

Field technicians are making so much money because of needless call-outs like this, but the executives are clueless as they are concerned about alarms being addressed, no matter if it is a known issue with no fix - they want it called out.

Field techs are smart as they are building up a good retirement cushion with the India call-outs.

In the end, WIN will fork out much, much more money for stupid call-outs after the outsourcing than when it was kept stateside.

Get rid of everyone with experience and then we have "teabag" running the show with his "would you like fries with that" corporate plan. Truly a joke. I guess it is a good plan everyone knows WIN is a joke and the techs just ride tickets. Might as well pay them the least amount possible.

I left and received a call saying there was a local company hiring - when they told me it was Windstream and the pay I laughed out loud on the phone. Not going to lie it felt really really good
