Halliburton Employees’ Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1960 as Duncan industrial Services Credit Union, with the sole focus of meeting the financial needs of Halliburton and other oilfield and industrial employees in Duncan.
The name changed in 1969 to Halliburton Employees’ Federal Credit Union. The official name change to Endurance Federal Credit Union occurred Oct. 1, 2018.
The Halliburton EFCU leadership team conducted extensive research with its members and non-members to determine how the name was perceived in the community as well as how a name name would help future growth.
During the research, the Halliburton EFCU team learned that the Halliburton Employees’ Federal Credit Union name led our communities to believe that they had to be employed with Halliburton to join.
“This is a far from the truth and we have high hopes that with the name change people will realize that we are trying to have a more inclusive member base within our communities,” stated Chris Bower, CEO and President. “We will maintain our relationships with Halliburton, their employees and family members as well as our other Select Employee Groups.
As Endurance Federal Credit Union, we will create more opportunities for people to join, regardless of their background or profession and we want our members and the communities we serve to know that Endurance Federal Credit Union is their credit union.”
