Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Shareholders above everything else

I can understand putting shareholders above your employees, that's pretty much the new normal in today's running of business everywhere, but PepsiCo has gone a step further and is now putting shareholders above customers and customer service.

How do they expect to see any bumps in profit if we keep alienating our customers? They don't seem to care. Positions that are essential to ensure good service to customers are being outsourced, removed, hours decimated... Everything to save more and keep shareholders happy.

It's like they forgot that two plus two makes four, and that happy customers mean more money for those same shareholders.

No logic in our current business strategy whatsoever.

I hate that every person has a workload that is unconscionable. It’s hard to get to your work because it’s takes so long to get basic things done.

your right, there is no strategy, the execs don't care, they are only looking to maximize their (shareholder) wealth in the short term, outside of that they could care less about anyone, the customers, employees, where the company is 10 years from now etc... it's all part of Indra's legacy.

PepsiCo needs to find the balance between shareholder value, employee satisfaction, and customer expectations. At the moment we are WAYoff balance and it’s really starting to show. Here’s to hoping our new CEO will have the ability to move us forward.

And it shows everyday in so many ways, from the “who gives a hoot” attitude of the employees to the “Ho Hum/who cares” mediocre overpriced products that are being produced
