I was in the 1,100. Things had been noticeably deteriorating in my area for a couple of years. Rapidly shifting "focus du jour" made it difficult to gain traction on anything before we changed directions to the next "Greatest Thing Ever".
I'm feeling blessed to have been in that first wave. I landed a great job in a very cool (and much more stable) environment. Decisions are more thoughtful and we are actually given the time and resources to implement projects.
Very best of luck to all those affected. Condolences and sympathy to those not lucky enough to have been let go.
The upcoming 1,100 job cuts is the 2019 round of layoffs. The long term Nationwide strategy is for another round of cuts in 2020 as policy counts and premium continues to go down. Sad that so many good people are being affected.
Nationwide is all about $ to the executives. They're cutting jobs and making those that are left work harder.
Nationwide is a shiv in your side.
