Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

The wrong practises in retail

I work for a Canadian division of Lowe’s and I would truly like to voice my thoughts. Those of us that have worked for this company between 20/30 years are very much aware of this retail market and how it works. We are the peons working directly with the consumers. Previous companies as many of us in BC have worked for were well taught abouhht return on investment. No one in the corporate world seems interested in our lessons only of those of district managers etc. We continue to receive quantities of items direct from manufacturers that exceed anything we would sell in years. Who authorizes this because it’s absurd. The quantities of products we sit on from opening orders is a waste of money and interest. Why would we order quantities of 8 from a manufacturer before it’s proven to be a popular item. Why can’t we order products in various categories that differ in sale from different demographics I’d love to have an explanation. Retail is simple have the the items the consumer wants and the trained staff to sell it to them. It shouldn’t have to be a struggle and a fight with Marketing. Sounds like people with egos to me. Working with the public is difficult enough; having your Marketing and buyers be ridiculous makes it almost impossible. Remember we are the ones that are making peanuts so you can have a job.

This is a post that I took from another thread, but the OP ( @TlsHrri-2Jcmz ) couldn't be more right.

I’ve always suspected that the Lowe’s Buyers take kick-backs from the vendor’s Sales Reps for pumping up the purchase orders.

Lowes doesn’t care about anything other than stock price.
